Police in Greece and Cyprus conduct multiple arrests for smuggling and drugs

Law enforcement agencies in Greece and Cyprus have conducted several operations resulting in numerous arrests for drug trafficking, smuggling, and various criminal offenses.

In Greece, police at Athens International Airport arrested a 22-year-old man arriving from Cairo with 7,008 packs of cigarettes and 3 kilograms of tobacco. In the Peristeri and Ilion areas, a 61-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man were arrested for cocaine trafficking, with 102.8 grams of cocaine seized. Other Greek arrests included a 25-year-old in Rhodes found with 303 pharmaceutical pills and cannabis, and a 24-year-old in Aspropyrgos who fled across rooftops during a police raid.

In Cyprus, police in Limassol arrested two individuals, aged 19 and 20, following a high-speed vehicle chase that involved traffic violations and an attack on officers. Additionally, recent reports indicate significant police activity in Cyprus, including 30 arrests within a seven-day period during intensive checks.
