Athens-Corinth National Road to receive new speed cameras

Authorities have approved the installation of new high-tech speed cameras and radar systems along the Athens-Corinth National Road in Greece to enhance road safety and traffic enforcement. The Road Surveillance and Safety Systems Service (O.D.Y.S.E. A.S.) has authorized the use of TraffiStar S295 portable radar systems.

These advanced devices are capable of monitoring vehicle speeds ranging from 10 to 300 km/h and can identify vehicle types. The systems are designed to monitor up to six lanes of traffic simultaneously and can operate in both directions.

A total of 15 specific locations have been identified for installation, primarily targeting dangerous or high-traffic areas. The deployment begins approximately 700-800 meters after the Elefsina tolls and covers regions including Mandra, Nea Peramos, Megara, Kineta, and Agioi Theodoroi. The cameras will be active once warning signs have been installed to inform drivers of the electronic monitoring systems.
