Athens court sentences man to life for murder of Polish professor

An Athens court has sentenced a 35-year-old man to life imprisonment for the July 2025 murder of Przemysław Jeziorski, a Polish marketing lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley. The killing occurred in Agia Paraskevi, Greece, while Jeziorski was visiting his children from a previous marriage.

Investigations revealed the crime was motivated by a volatile divorce involving disputes over child custody and financial matters related to business interests in the United States. The perpetrator reportedly used a Tokarev-type weapon and was assisted by three accomplices, who were also found guilty of involvement in the planning and execution of the attack.

The victim's 43-year-old former wife, who was accused of being the mastermind behind the assassination, died by suicide in her prison cell in June 2026, shortly after judicial authorities moved to send her to trial.
