Athens experiences heavy traffic congestion across major arteries

Major road networks in the Athens metropolitan area are experiencing significant traffic congestion and delays. Heavy traffic has been reported on several key axes, including Kifisos Avenue, Kifisias Avenue, and Mesogeion Avenue. On Kifisos, a collision between a minibus and a private vehicle caused a nine-kilometer bottleneck in the direction of Renti.

On the Attiki Odos motorway, drivers are facing delays of up to 25 minutes on the route toward the airport, specifically between the Metamorfosi and Kifisias junctions. Delays are also noted on the route toward Elefsina and the Lamia exits.

In the city center, congestion is affecting areas around Kolonaki, Plaka, and Pangrati, as well as connecting roads toward Zografou. Additionally, heavy traffic has been observed around the Port of Piraeus and on the Hymettus Peripheral Road.
