Athens experiences heavy traffic congestion on major road axes

Major traffic congestion is affecting several key road axes in the Athens metropolitan area on Monday morning. Kifissos Avenue is experiencing heavy delays in both directions, particularly from the Aigaleo area toward Philadelphia.

On the Attiki Odos, delays exceeding 30 minutes are reported in the direction of the airport between the Fylis and Kifissia junctions. In the direction of Elefsina, delays range from 15 to 25 minutes between the Anthousa and Kifissia junctions. The Ymittos Ring Road is also seeing delays of 15 to 25 minutes.

Other significant bottlenecks include Athens Avenue, central Athens streets such as Kifissias Avenue and Vassilissis Sofias, and the Piraeus Port area. Additionally, heavy traffic is reported along the coastal Poseidonos Avenue.
