Athens hosts 8th Dance Amphitheatries festival

The 8th edition of the Dance Amphitheatries festival, titled “Concentric Circles: In Motion”, was held on 6 July 2026 at the Miltiades Everett Amphitheatre in Technopolis, Athens. Seven choreographers and about 70 dancers from the network performed, showcasing the diversity and dialogue of contemporary dance.

Athens Mayor Haris Doukas praised the event as “a success story” and highlighted the reversal of the usual cultural flow from the capital to the regions. Tinos Mayor Panagiotis Krontriras attended, noting it was the first time a Tinos‑originated festival was presented outside the island and announcing a return to Tinos in October. Artistic director Georgia Raptis emphasized the festival’s role in fostering local identity, artistic creation, and cultural development. Participating groups included Tinos House of Dance, Boogaloo Dance Company, Casa Argentina Athens, Kormas Limitless Dance Academy, the Greek Zeybeki Center, the International Dance and Theatre Center of Milos, and the Municipal Dance School of Agia Varvara.
