Athens Marathon announces schedule changes and new medal design

The 43rd Athens Marathon features several updates to its event schedule and design. Due to increased participation, the start time for the main marathon on Sunday, November 8, has been moved earlier to 08:30. Additionally, a new plan for the partial transport of runners to the starting line will be implemented for the first time.

The event schedule includes various distances. On Saturday, November 7, the 1,200m children's race and the SOH & AmEA Telekom race will take place at 16:00, followed by the 5km Telekom race at 17:00 and the 5km Universities Night Run at 20:00. The Sunday program begins with the 10km allwyn race at 08:00.

The commemorative medal for this year's marathon, designed by Kyriakos Rokos, incorporates symbols of peace, the sun, and the sea to reflect Attica's identity. The design features a dove in motion as a central symbol of peace and includes a staircase element representing the connection between the start and the finish line.
