Athens Marathon expects record 85,000 runners

The 43rd Authentic Athens Marathon is set to host a record-breaking 85,000 runners this year. The event, scheduled for November 7-8, marks a significant milestone in the history of the race.

To support the increased participation, the organization has recruited a record 5,000 volunteers from Greece and 30 other countries. These volunteers, ranging in age from 15 to 84, will assist with nutrition, clothing, security, and runner support to ensure a high-quality experience.

The event schedule includes several adjustments due to the high volume of participants. The first race start will take place earlier at 08:30. Additionally, races for children and persons with disabilities (PWD) will be held on Saturday, November 7, rather than Sunday.
