Athens mayor urges swift action on Goudi Metropolitan Park

Athens Mayor Chari Doukas said the municipality has completed an urban‑planning study and drafted proposals for immediate works to develop the core of the planned Metropolitan Park in Goudi, a key green space for the Athens basin. He called for close cooperation with the neighboring municipalities of Zografou and Papagou and urged all responsible public agencies to change their stance after the recent fire at the Bedford building, emphasizing accountability and coordinated action.

Doukas highlighted the recent repurposing of a local building by the National Cultural Heritage Administration (YETHA) for cultural use as an example of effective collaboration that benefits citizens.
