Athens Municipality inaugurates new Citizen Service Center in Neo Kosmos
The Municipality of Athens has inaugurated a new Citizen Service Center (KEP) in the Neo Kosmos neighborhood. Located at the intersection of Frederiko Smith and Bloko Dourgouti Square, the facility is housed in a municipal-owned building for the first time.
The new center features modern technological equipment, a visitor management system, and full accessibility, including ramps, disabled-access restrooms, and dedicated parking. The inauguration took place on Wednesday, September 23, attended by Athens Mayor Charalampos Doukas and Interior Minister Thodoris Livanios.
Mayor Doukas stated that moving to a municipal building will save approximately 50,000 euros in rent over the next two years, reducing fixed costs while providing permanent infrastructure. This project is part of a broader 2024 initiative to renovate and upgrade eight KEP locations within the Municipality of Athens. Minister Livanios noted that the Athens centers serve a significantly larger population than local residents and emphasized the importance of utilizing municipal property to lower operational expenses.
