Athens Stock Exchange maintains stability amid banking and energy sector shifts

The Athens Stock Exchange is navigating a period of volatility, characterized by selective investor rotation and profit-taking. Despite fluctuations, the General Index has maintained a level above the critical 2,600 mark, recently reaching levels not seen in 17 years.

The banking sector remains a primary driver of market movement. While some institutions like Alpha Bank have faced selling pressure and corrections, others such as Piraeus Bank have reached five-year highs. Analysts from UBS have provided positive outlooks for several European and Greek banks, including Piraeus and Eurobank.

Other notable performers include Lamda Development, which has seen significant gains, and Allwyn, which is experiencing a period of accumulation. The energy and refining sectors, specifically Motor Oil and HELLENiQ ENERGY, also continue to show strength, contributing to the market's resilience amidst a complex international geopolitical and monetary environment.
