Athens Stock Exchange hits 17-year high
The Athens Stock Exchange reached a 17-year high as the General Index closed at 2,634.24 points, marking a 1.34% increase. This represents the highest closing level since November 11, 2009.
Despite limited trading volume, the market showed strong upward trends. The high-capitalization index rose by 1.42%, while the mid-cap index saw a slight decline of 0.26%. Notable gains among large-cap stocks included EYDAP (+3.06%), National Bank (+2.47%), Coca Cola HBC (+2.31%), Titan (+2.18%), and Eurobank (+2.17%).
In contrast, Piraeus Bank, Alpha Bank, and Eurobank saw significant trading activity. Major declines were noted in OPAP (-2.32%) and Aegean Airlines (-1.07%). The year-to-date gains for the index stand at 24.22%.
