Athens Suburban Railway restores services after fire

Hellenic Train has announced the gradual normalization of schedules for the Athens Suburban Railway following service disruptions caused by a fire in the Aspropyrgos area.

Railway traffic was restored on the Nea Peramos–Ano Liosia section, and electrification was reinstated on the Loutropyrgos–Ano Liosia section as of 12:13. The fire, which broke out on Tuesday morning near the tracks, had previously caused significant delays and forced some train sets to remain stationary at stations. To mitigate passenger inconvenience during the outage, buses had been deployed to serve affected areas.
