Athens traffic faces heavy congestion on Kifisos and Attiki Odos

Major traffic congestion and significant delays have been reported across the primary road networks of the Athens metropolitan area. Kifisos Avenue remains a central point of disruption, with heavy traffic and low speeds observed in both directions, particularly between Egaleo and Nea Ionia.

On the Attiki Odos motorway, commuters are facing delays of over 30 minutes, specifically on the lanes heading toward the airport between the Fylis and Kifisia junctions. Additional delays are noted on exits toward Lamia and Elefsina.

Other heavily affected areas include Athens city center, with slow-moving traffic on Vasilissis Sofias, Alexandras, and Vasileos Konstantinou avenues. Significant congestion is also reported on Kifisias Avenue, Mesogeion, and Syggrou avenues, as well as near the Port of Piraeus.
