Athletes compete in major marathon and ultra-endurance events

Mexican Olympian Laura Galván is set to make her marathon debut at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Having competed in the Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 Olympics, Galván intends to use this 42-kilometer race as a benchmark to prepare for future goals, including qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and potentially breaking the Mexican national record of 2:22:59.

In Spain, Guzmán Calderón emerged as the winner of the Backyard Ultra Curillas ‘El Último Arriero’ in La Sequeda. Competing in extreme conditions involving rain, cold, and mud, Calderón completed 32 laps of a 6.7-kilometer circuit. His total distance reached 214.59 kilometers over a duration of 28 hours, 7 minutes, and 7 seconds.
