Athletes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia receive major honors

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport has awarded over 1 million KM to athletes, clubs, and coaches for their 2026 achievements. The funds include 674,000 KM for Olympic sports and 367,000 KM for non-Olympic sports. Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević noted that the increasing amount of funding reflects the growing success of Bosnian athletes on the international stage. The ministry also plans to secure an additional 350,000 KM to cover unpaid awards from the previous year.

In Serbia, ten-year-old jiu-jitsu athlete Bogdan Obradović has become the youngest recipient of the Golden Medal for merits in the history of the country. President Aleksandar Vučić presented the award at the Palace of Serbia during a ceremony marking the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom, and the National Flag. Obradović, who has won over 30 medals, received the honor alongside his coach, Aleksandar Tomić, for their contributions to the development of martial arts.
