Athletic competitions held in Modrovec and Starigrad
Multiple athletic events took place in Croatia, featuring both community races and challenging mountain competitions.
In Modrovec, the 18th Modrožanska race and the 23rd Marijan Lukin Memorial were held. The event included children's races, a 10.5 km main race, and a 2.1 km citizens' race. Members of the Rudolf Perešin Athletic and Triathlon Club dominated the podiums, with Bruno Kos winning the men's main race and Suzana Dinjar winning the women's category. Jakov Lukina and Eva Družinec were named the top local competitors.
Meanwhile, the 25th anniversary of the Starigrad – Veliko Rujno mountain race was held, organized by the Sveti Ante Poličnik Athletic Club. The 14-kilometer course, which connects the sea to the mountains, attracted participants from Croatia and Slovenia. Slovenian runner Jure Jarc won the men's competition with a time of 1:19:29, while Martina Horvat from AK Svetice won the women's category. The event is part of the Croatian Athletics Association calendar and featured participants ranging from 16 to 70 years old.
