Atibaia and Jaguariúna excel at 68th São Paulo Regional Games
Municipalities in the state of São Paulo delivered strong performances at the 68th Jogos Regionais of the 4th Sports Region. Atibaia finished seventh overall out of 46 towns with 110 points, winning gold in men's taekwondo and the U‑20 men’s football final, as well as multiple podium finishes across taekwondo, judo, swimming, athletics, rhythmic gymnastics and volleyball.
Jaguariúna highlighted rhythmic gymnastics, securing six medals and the vice‑championship in the discipline, and repeated its success in athletics with Marina Malachias defending her 10,000‑metre title. The municipality’s U‑21 women’s volleyball team also beat the defending champion Limeira to reach the final and qualified for the upcoming Jogos Abertos do Interior. Both towns earned spots in the interior open games, underscoring the depth of talent in the region.
