Atlanta Braves re-sign pitcher Elieser Hernández

The Atlanta Braves have re-signed right-handed pitcher Elieser Hernández to a minor league contract, according to MLB transaction records. The 31-year-old Venezuelan pitcher has signed four minor league deals with the organization within the last nine months.

Hernández has become a frequent part of the Braves' roster management strategy, often serving as a bullpen depth option. Since mid-July, Atlanta has added him to the 40-man roster three separate times. In these instances, he typically provided relief appearances before being designated for assignment, passing through waivers, and immediately re-signing with the club.

This pattern of movement is utilized by the Braves to manage pitching staff depth amidst injury concerns. In Major League play this season, Hernández has recorded an ERA of 2.45 over 11 innings. However, his performance with the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers has seen a 4.54 ERA across 81.1 innings.
