Atlanta Braves roster and pitching management

Overview

The Atlanta Braves have engaged in various roster management strategies involving pitching depth and future planning.

In September, the organization re-signed Venezuelan pitcher Elieser Hernández to a minor league contract. Hernández has frequently moved between the 40-man roster and the bullpen to provide depth amidst injury concerns, recording a 2.45 ERA in Major League play during the season.

Following postseason elimination by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team outlined future objectives. President of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos indicated a focus on developing 21-year-old right-hander Didier Fuentes for the 2027 starting rotation. Additionally, the club is evaluating needs at shortstop, considering options such as re-signing Mauricio Dubon or pursuing other platoon players, while planning to engage with free agents before the market opens.
