Atlanta police find no signs of foul play in death of Raz-B’s infant son

Atlanta police report that no obvious signs of trauma or foul play were found following the death of Astro Monte Thornton, the 3-month-old son of singer Raz-B (De’Mario Thornton) and Mona Li.

Officers responded to a “person down” call at the family’s Atlanta home shortly after 8 a.m. on September 8. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the infant dead at the scene. The Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide and Crime Scene Units were notified, and investigators obtained a search warrant to collect items for evidentiary value.

Astro’s body was transferred to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. While an autopsy has been completed, the official cause and manner of death remain pending as additional testing continues. The family previously described the infant's passing as unexpected.
