Death of Raz-B and Mona Li's infant son

Overview

Following the sudden and unexpected death of three-month-old Astro Monte Thornton, B2K founding member Raz-B (De’Mario Thornton) and his wife, Mona Li, have entered a period of mourning.

Atlanta police reported that officers responded to a “person down” call at the family’s Atlanta home shortly after 8 a.m. on September 8. Emergency medical personnel pronounced the infant dead at the scene. While the Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide and Crime Scene Units were notified and investigators obtained a search warrant to collect items for evidentiary value, police stated that no obvious signs of trauma or foul play were found.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy on September 9. Although additional testing continues, the official cause and manner of death remain pending.

As the family prepared for a funeral service in Atlanta on September 14, Thornton expressed gratitude via social media for the outpouring of prayers and support. He shared the address of a local funeral home for those wishing to send flowers. The family has requested privacy during this time.
