Atlanta shootings wound security guard and riddles home with bullets

A security guard, Gregory Thomas III, was shot in the chest while on duty on Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta. He survived after bystanders performed CPR and he was taken to Grady Hospital. The incident involved a gunman who fired multiple rounds, and witnesses reported hearing at least 15 shots.

In a separate incident early Thursday morning, the home of Robert Sinners in southwest Atlanta was fired upon with about 30 rounds. No one was injured. Police arrested two suspects, Gregory O’Neal Vaughn and Jermaine Darcel Howard, and recovered a firearm and ammunition. Investigators said the shooting does not appear to be politically motivated.
