Atlixco and Guadalajara host major cultural festivals

Cultural celebrations are underway in Mexico and Spain. In Atlixco, Puebla, the 61st edition of the Huey Atlixcáyotl Festival has commenced with a traditional convite at Casa Aguayo. The event brings together representatives from 13 ethnogeographic regions of Puebla to celebrate indigenous roots through music, regional dance, and traditional attire.

In Guadalajara, Spain, the city is celebrating its Fairs and Festivals. Carmelo García Pérez, rector of the University of Alcalá, delivered the official proclamation. The festivities include various cultural activities, such as the III National Folklore Festival, which drew over 500 spectators to the Plaza Mayor, and several art exhibitions featuring photography, sculpture, and drawing, including a showcase of Carlos Cánovas’ work at Espacio Medarde.

Both regions are utilizing these festivals to promote local identity, heritage, and community engagement through diverse artistic expressions.
