Atlus to Alter Yosuke Dialogue in Persona 4 Revival Remake

Atlus announced that its upcoming remake, Persona 4 Revival, scheduled for release on February 18 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, will feature revisions to the character Yosuke Hanamura’s dialogue. General Producer Kazuhisa Wada explained at Anime Expo 2026 that the story and other characters remain unchanged, but Yosuke’s lines have been softened because “he’s a little bit insensitive in how he treats outsiders,” and the team wants them to better fit contemporary sensibilities.

The changes primarily affect Yosuke’s interactions with characters such as Kanji, removing or rephrasing remarks that earlier were viewed as insensitive. Fans have responded with mixed opinions: some welcome the update as a necessary modernization, while others argue it alters an iconic aspect of the original 2008 game.
