ATM explosions target bank branches in Cesano Maderno and Treviglio

A series of ATM explosions targeting bank branches has occurred in the Lombardy region of Italy. In Cesano Maderno, specifically in the Binzago district, unknown individuals detonated an explosive device at a Bper branch on via Conciliazione around 2:30 AM on September 15. The blast caused significant structural damage to the building and woke local residents.

In Treviglio, a similar attack occurred on September 16 between 2:40 AM and 2:45 AM at a Unicredit branch on via Roma. Witnesses reported hearing two loud booms. A group of at least four people is believed to be involved, with one individual reportedly remaining in a vehicle to facilitate a quick escape. The explosion caused extensive damage to the interior of the branch and scattered debris across the street.

In both incidents, the perpetrators fled before law enforcement arrived. Authorities, including the Carabinieri and scientific police, are currently analyzing surveillance footage to identify the suspects and their getaway vehicles. The total amount of stolen funds has not yet been determined.
