Atmos Renewables acquires Australian solar and wind projects from BayWa r.e

Atmos Renewables, the renewable energy arm of Igneo Infrastructure Partners, has acquired a portfolio of operating and developing solar and wind projects from the German developer BayWa r.e. The acquisition increases Atmos’s operational portfolio to 19 solar, wind, and battery energy storage assets, lifting its total operating and in-construction capacity beyond 2 GW.

The deal includes the 106 MW Yatpool Solar Farm in northwest Victoria and the 20 MW Hughenden Solar Farm in central Queensland. The Bullawah Wind Farm project in New South Wales is also part of the acquisition; the project is designed to include up to 800 MW of wind generation and a 359 MW battery.

Atmos CEO Nigel Baker stated that the acquisition adds scale and diversity to the company’s portfolio, specifically noting that the Bullawah project positions the company to deliver its first wind farm in New South Wales in the near term.
