Atmos Renewables expansion in Australia
Overview
Atmos Renewables, an Igneo Infrastructure Partners business, has expanded its renewable energy footprint through significant project closures and acquisitions in Australia.
In early October, Atmos Renewables reached financial close on two major projects supported by the government’s Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS): the 400 MW/1600 MWh Teebar battery energy storage system in Queensland and the 470 MW Parron Maam Marang wind farm in Western Australia. These developments followed the June 2025 milestone of the 100 MW Merredin battery project, bringing the company’s total CIS-backed capacity through financial close to 970 MW.
By mid-October, Atmos Renewables further increased its capacity by acquiring a portfolio of operating and developing solar and wind projects from the German developer BayWa r.e. This acquisition included the 106 MW Yatpool Solar Farm in Victoria, the 20 MW Hughenden Solar Farm in Queensland, and the Bullawah Wind Farm project in New South Wales. Following this deal, Atmos’s operational portfolio grew to 19 assets, with total operating and in-construction capacity exceeding 2 GW.
