Atmos Rewards announces customizable earning methods and new benefits

Alaska Air Group has announced significant updates to its Atmos Rewards loyalty program, which serves Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. The changes, unveiled during an Investor Day, aim to provide members with more customizable ways to earn points and status.

Starting October 1, 2026, for flights departing on or after January 1, 2027, members can choose from three different earning methods: distance traveled (1 point per mile), price paid (5 points per $1 spent on airfare and premium upgrades), or segments flown (a flat 500 points per segment).

The expansion also includes the introduction of a new Atmos Rewards debit card planned for early 2027, a refreshed business credit card in late 2026, and new lifestyle partnerships with entities such as Alterra Mountain Company, Nordstrom, and Pebble Beach Resorts. Additionally, the program plans to add more premium seats and lounge access throughout 2027 and 2028.
