ATS Insubria launches Permanent Strategic Table for Health Prevention

The regional health authority ATS Insubria has established a Permanent Strategic Table for Prevention and Promotion of Health. The new coordinating body links public health institutions, the third sector and volunteer organisations to develop shared strategies aimed at chronic disease management, early screening, healthy lifestyle promotion and reducing health inequalities.

The Table, presented on 30 July, is chaired by ATS Insubria General Director Salvatore Gioia and includes representatives of local ASSTs, the Inter‑departmental Oncology Department (DiPO), and numerous NGOs. It expands on a previous oncology‑focused forum to cover broader health topics, creating thematic working groups on oncology, chronic diseases and caregiver support. Participants such as Adele Patrini (FAVO Lombardia), Elisabetta Todisco (ASST Valle Olona) and Enrico Tallarita highlighted the need for integrated services and community involvement.

Gioia stressed that “the volunteers constitute an invaluable asset for the health‑social system, bringing us closer to citizens and helping to spread a culture of prevention.” The initiative aims to build a stable, participatory model that continuously designs projects for the region’s most fragile populations.
