Italian regional health coordination tables

In late July 2026 regional authorities in Italy began formalising permanent health‑coordination bodies. In Puglia, a new institutional table on obesity was set up to create a unified diagnostic‑therapeutic pathway, link reference centres such as IRCCS De Bellis, and launch school‑based prevention programmes. Simultaneously, Lombardy’s ATS Insubria announced a permanent strategic table for prevention and health promotion, bringing together health agencies, social‑health services and third‑sector NGOs to address chronic diseases, oncology, screening and support for frail individuals.

A few days later, ATS Insubria held the inaugural meeting of its Permanent Strategic Table. Chaired by General Director Salvatore Gioia, the forum expanded from a prior oncology‑focused group to cover broader prevention topics, establishing thematic working groups on oncology, chronic disease management and caregiver support. Representatives from local health trusts, the Inter‑departmental Oncology Department, and NGOs highlighted the need for integrated services and community involvement, emphasizing volunteers as a key asset for reducing health inequalities.

Together, the snapshots show a coordinated rollout of regional health tables across Italy, moving from the announcement of new structures to their operational launch, with a focus on integrated, community‑based prevention and chronic‑disease management.
