Attias and Italy's Meloni Urge Strategic European Shift at Rome FII Forum

Richard Attias, chairman of the executive committee of the FII Institute, told participants at the FII Priority Europe conference in Rome that Europe is at a turning point. He highlighted the continent’s assets – talent, creativity, stability, culture, innovation, research, industrial know‑how and high quality of life – and warned that AI is rapidly reshaping business models and the broader economic landscape.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, speaking in a video message from Evian, said Italy intends to play a leading role as Europe’s gateway to the Mediterranean. She urged that Rome become a permanent seat for the FII Institute, calling for greater strategic autonomy and for Europe to harness its geopolitical and geoeconomic strength to deepen partnerships with key allies.
