Attica faces scheduled power outages on June 8‑9

Greece’s power grid operator DEDDIE announced planned electricity interruptions in the Attica region. On Monday 8 June, ten municipalities—including Athens, Kallithea, Voula, Chalandri, Varys, Markopoulo, Lavreotiki, Megara, Glyfada and Moschato—will experience temporary cuts for maintenance and network upgrades. The outages are set to run during specified hours in each area, with safety warnings that lines remain live.

A second round of outages is scheduled for Tuesday 9 June across additional districts of Attica, covering multiple suburbs and roads. DEDDIE stressed the work is essential for improving reliability and quality of supply, and advised residents to prepare by checking appliances, securing food, and ensuring pets have light and food.

These interruptions affect thousands of households and businesses in the metropolitan area, with the operator aiming to restore power promptly after each scheduled window.
