Attica, Greece faces widespread scheduled power outages on Aug 5‑6, 2026

On Thursday, 5 August, and Friday, 6 August 2026, the electricity distribution network in the Attica region of Greece will undergo scheduled interruptions. The cuts, ordered by the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Company (ΔΕΔΔΗΕ), are intended for construction, maintenance and operational work on the power grid.

The outages will affect eleven municipalities, including Athens, Piraeus, Kallithea, and the western suburb of Ano Liosia, where power will be off for four hours (08:00‑12:00). Longer interruptions of up to eight hours are planned for parts of Peristeri, Lavrio and Koropi. Numerous streets and road sections in each area are listed for temporary disconnection, with some cuts extending into the afternoon.

These planned blackouts are part of routine infrastructure upgrades and are expected to cause temporary inconvenience for residents and businesses across the affected districts.
