Attica street markets to launch advertising campaign and parking enforcement

The Attica Street Markets Operation Body and the Panhellenic Federation of Agricultural Product Producer Associations have announced a strategic plan to upgrade and improve the operation of street markets in the Attica region.

A one-month advertising campaign with a budget of €1 million is scheduled to be presented on November 12 during a press conference featuring Attica Governor Nikos Hardalias. The initiative aims to enhance the image of the markets and increase visitor numbers.

To address logistical issues, authorities are implementing measures to tackle illegal parking that obstructs market stalls. Plans include installing warning signs, collaborating with the Traffic Police to notify vehicle owners, and potentially employing crane companies to remove vehicles. The cost of these removals is proposed to be covered by the fines issued to violators. Other discussed improvements include road signage, morning arrival schedules, and the potential creation of afternoon markets.
