The Greek electricity grid operator DEDDIE announced planned power outages on Monday, 6 July 2026, affecting numerous municipalities across Crete and the Attica region. In Crete, outages were scheduled in the municipalities of Heraklion, Gortyna, Sfaki, Kissamos, Chania, Ierapetra and others, with specific time windows ranging from 08:00 to 15:00 depending on the locality. In Attica, the outages covered areas such as Megara, Aspropyrgos, Haidari, Athens city districts, Kallithea, Palaio Faliro, Glyfada, Alimos, Aegina, Lavreotiki, and Spata‑Loutrá, with interruptions set for various periods throughout the day.

The following day, Tuesday, 7 July 2026, additional outages were scheduled in further parts of Attica, including districts of Agia Paraskevi, Chalandri, Kifissia, Kalamata, and other suburbs, again for maintenance, network reinforcement and upgrade works. DEDDIE warned residents to treat all underground cables as live during the interruption periods and urged caution around the affected zones.

These outages are part of routine maintenance to improve safety and reliability of the electricity distribution network.
