Attica traffic cameras reject over 21,000 potential violations

Data regarding the new traffic camera system in Attica reveals that 21,073 recorded incidents were rejected during the verification process and never issued as official fines. These rejections serve as a safety mechanism to ensure only confirmed violations are processed.

As of July 22, 2026, the primary reasons for these rejections include:

• 7,039 cases (33.4%) involving vehicles that approached a signal line closely without clear evidence of a violation. • 6,051 cases (28.71%) involving emergency or state vehicles on official missions. • 4,732 cases (22.46%) due to insufficient image quality, poor night conditions, or other factors preventing reliable identification. • 1,958 cases (9.29%) where a police officer was present at the scene or there was a legal deviation from standard signaling.
