Attiki Odos crash near Metamorphosis interchange disrupts traffic

A three‑vehicle collision occurred on the Attiki Odos highway at the Metamorphosis interchange, affecting the lane heading toward Athens International Airport. The accident forced the closure of the left‑hand lanes and caused delays of 10–15 minutes for traffic between the areas of Demokratia and Heraklion.

Emergency services responded quickly: police directed traffic and documented the scene, while fire crews were on standby in case rescue or extrication was required. Four people sustained minor injuries and were treated on site. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the authorities.

Motorists have been advised to seek alternative routes until normal flow is restored, as traffic congestion is expected to continue for the near future.
