Sazerac to acquire Au Vodka in deal worth up to £500m
American spirits giant Sazerac has signed a binding agreement to acquire the UK-based Au Vodka. While the official financial terms were not disclosed, reports indicate the deal could be worth up to £500 million (approximately €584 million).
Au Vodka, founded in 2015 by Charlie Morgan and Jackson Quinn in Swansea, Wales, is known for its distinctive gold-colored bottles and strong presence in the ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail market. The company has achieved significant growth through social media marketing and partnerships with high-profile figures such as Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul.
If the transaction is completed, founders Morgan and Quinn are expected to receive payouts exceeding £100 million each. The acquisition is part of Sazerac’s strategy to expand its global portfolio, which already includes brands like Buffalo Trace and Southern Comfort. The deal is subject to customary completion conditions and is expected to close within weeks.
