Auburn University opens $224M STEM and Agricultural Sciences Complex

Auburn University has officially opened its new $224 million STEM + Agricultural Sciences Complex, marking the largest research construction project in the institution's history. The facility spans over 265,000 square feet and consists of three interconnected buildings designed to house six departments from the College of Agriculture and the College of Sciences and Mathematics.

The complex aims to foster cross-disciplinary research by bringing together students and faculty from fields such as crop and soil science, horticulture, biological sciences, chemistry, geosciences, and mathematics. The project was supported by $50 million in state funding allocated by Governor Kay Ivey.

In a related development for the university's agricultural research capabilities, the Beef Cattle Evaluation Center is scheduled to undergo renovations. The center is expected to reopen in early 2027 with updated infrastructure and new technologies to support the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station and the university's long-standing bull testing programs.
