Auburn University STEM and Agricultural Sciences Complex
Overview
Auburn University has officially opened its new $224 million STEM + Agricultural Sciences Complex, which represents the largest research and academic construction project in the institution’s history. The 265,000-square-foot facility consists of three interconnected buildings housing six departments from the College of Agriculture and the College of Sciences and Mathematics.
Approximately 70% of the complex is dedicated to teaching and research laboratories. The facility is designed to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration to address global issues such as human health, environmental stewardship, and food security. The project received $50 million in state funding from Governor Kay Ivey.
While the complex is already in use for student and faculty research, additional updates to the university’s agricultural infrastructure are planned, including renovations to the Beef Cattle Evaluation Center expected to be completed in early 2027.
