Auchan to rebrand multiple French stores as Intermarché and Hyper U

The French retailer Auchan is undergoing a significant rebranding and operational shift, transitioning several of its locations to other banners including Intermarché and Hyper U.

In the Yvelines region, fourteen Auchan stores are scheduled to change to the Intermarché brand between September 2026 and April 2027. This transition involves a mix of sales to Mousquetaires members and the conversion of existing Auchan-owned stores into Intermarché franchises. Specific locations in Verneuil-sur-Seine, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, and Sartrouville are among the first to undergo the change in late September 2026.

In Avrillé, the local Auchan hypermarket will transition to a Hyper U brand. To facilitate the necessary renovations, the store will close from September 30 until approximately October 20, 2026. While the hypermarket will be temporarily inaccessible, the surrounding shopping gallery and its individual merchants are expected to remain open throughout the construction period.
