Audi and Racing Bulls aim for points at Austrian Grand Prix
Racing Bulls head to the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, a circuit they consider a home race, after scoring points in each of the two previous Grands Prix. Team director Alan Permane said the Austrian Grand Prix is “a race we always look forward to” and highlighted recent upgrades to the VCARB 03 that have broadened the car’s performance window. He noted the short, technical layout and unusually high temperatures, with Pirelli bringing its softest tyre compounds.
Audi also arrives in Austria hoping to turn recent frustrations in Monaco and Barcelona into championship points. The German constructor has introduced updates to both of its R26 cars and driver Nico Hülkenberg warned that “it’s a short, deceptively simple circuit – you don’t have many chances to recover from mistakes.” Team‑principal Allan McNish added that the goal is to maximise the weekend’s output and aim for a clean top‑10 finish.
