Audi introduces Q9 flagship SUV with curved OLED technology

Audi has unveiled the Q9, the largest SUV in the company's history and the new flagship of its Q range. The vehicle features a world premiere in automotive lighting: third-generation digital OLED panels that are three-dimensionally curved to follow the bodywork. These panels utilize ultra-thin glass, only 0.1 mm thick, allowing them to bend with a radius of up to 200 mm.

The lighting system consists of six large digital OLED panels divided into 512 segments, designed to enhance safety and communication through active light signatures and expanded turn signals. The front of the vehicle is equipped with Digital Matrix LED headlights utilizing micro-LED technology.

Produced in Bratislava, the Q9 offers seven seats across three rows and features an interior equipped with a 14.5-inch MMI display, a 12.3-inch driver display, and a passenger screen. The infotainment system is based on Android Automotive and includes a voice assistant powered by ChatGPT. Initial engine options include a 3.0 V6 TDI diesel with MHEV plus technology, producing either 245 hp or 299 hp. Orders are currently open, with the first deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
