Audi models designed for China appear in German market

German importers have begun offering Audi models specifically designed for the Chinese market to European consumers through parallel imports. These vehicles, developed in partnership with SAIC, feature distinct visual identities—such as the AUDI name in capital letters rather than the traditional four rings—and are built on platforms tailored for Chinese requirements.

One importer, Auto China, is offering models like the E5 Sportback and the E7X SUV. The E5 Sportback Flagship quattro, which features dual electric motors producing up to 787 hp and a 100 kWh battery, is priced at approximately €59,980 before taxes. However, buyers must account for additional costs, including roughly €7,800 for importation and homologation processes.
