While German prices—approximately €59,980 for the E5 Sportback and €72,900 for the E7X—are significantly higher than in China, they remain a point of interest for consumers.
Audi has responded by initiating legal proceedings in Germany against Auto China to block the parallel import of these two models. The manufacturer expressed concerns that these imports are not part of its official global product strategy and could potentially “cannibalize sales of its existing e-tron electric models.”
Beyond market competition, Audi has highlighted practical risks for European owners. Because these models are built on the Advanced Digitized Platform designed for the Chinese digital ecosystem, there are significant concerns regarding software updates, diagnostic services, spare parts availability, and official dealership support. An Audi spokesperson noted that official dealers outside of China cannot perform maintenance on these vehicles as they are classified as foreign cars. Following Audi’s legal actions, the listings for both models have been removed from Auto China’s website.
