Auditoría Superior de la Federación detects educational fund irregularities in Colima
The Auditoría Superior de la Federación (ASF) has identified significant irregularities in the use of educational funds by authorities in Colima, Mexico, during the 2025 fiscal year. The audit reports a probable irregular use of approximately 25.1 million pesos from the Fondo de Aportaciones para la Nómina Educativa y Gasto Operativo (FONE).
Key findings include the payment of 19.3 million pesos to 32 teachers for activities related to the Sindicato Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación (SNTE), a practice prohibited under previous educational reforms. Additionally, the ASF detected 1.7 million pesos paid to five education workers holding elected positions without proof that they performed education-related duties.
The audit also uncovered 1.45 million pesos in payments made to 20 deceased workers. Other discrepancies noted include payments to employees after their definitive dismissal and the use of canceled tax receipts. While the state dependency has reintegrated 9.1 million pesos to the Tesorería de la Federación (Tesofe), discrepancies remain between the total reintegrated amount and the specific findings documented in the report.
