Augusta initiates major infrastructure projects for wastewater and parking
The municipality of Augusta has initiated several major infrastructure projects aimed at improving urban services and environmental quality.
Construction has officially begun on a new wastewater treatment plant, a project described by Mayor Giuseppe Di Mare as a fundamental turning point for the community. The works are expected to last 470 days and will impact coastal traffic. Additionally, the administration plans to use auction savings to extend purification services to the Agnone area.
Simultaneously, the city has launched the administrative process for the design of a multi-level public parking facility on the eastern slope of the island. The project, budgeted at approximately 106,000 euros for professional services, aims to address chronic parking shortages in the historic center. The municipality will hire an external professional to draft the technical-economic feasibility and executive projects due to the current workload of internal technical staff.
