German towns record strong participation in 2026 STADTRADELN cycling campaign

The nationwide STADTRADELN 2026 cycling challenge saw high engagement across several German municipalities. In Heppenheim, 482 residents rode a total of 76,022 kilometres, saving roughly 12 tonnes of CO₂. The top male rider was Rainer Bender with 1,378 km and the leading female cyclist was Sabine Zöller with 1,395.8 km.

Stockstadt achieved second place in the Kreis Groß‑Gerau ranking, with 177 participants covering 27,200 km and avoiding an estimated 4,461 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. Aulendorf hosted 507 cyclists who collectively rode 138,000 km; Guido Sträßle topped the men's leaderboard with 1,860 km and Andrea Seeger led the women’s ranking with 1,153 km.

These results highlight the growing popularity of community cycling initiatives in Germany and their contribution to climate‑friendly mobility.
