Flavia Boghiu appointed Secretary of State at Ministry of Environment

Flavia Boghiu, the former deputy mayor of Brașov and member of the USR party, has been appointed as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Environment, Waters, and Forests. The appointment was proposed by the interim Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, and officially signed by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.

Boghiu’s return to active politics follows her definitive acquittal by the Brașov Court of Appeal in a corruption case involving allegations of abuse of office. She stated that she had delayed accepting political roles to maintain integrity and protect the ministry’s image until the legal proceedings were fully concluded.

Minister Buzoianu praised Boghiu’s expertise, noting her commitment to projects centered on people, such as flood prevention, pollution management, and water infrastructure. Boghiu succeeds Raul Pop in the position.
